The fear of Brown may mean certification delay

How badly frightened are lawmakers in the nation’s capitol when they consider the very real possibility that Senator Ted Kennedy’s seat will be taken by Republican Scott Brown?

They apparently are terrified.

Consider how much money has changed hands with all the actions of the U.S. Government seeking socialism on a European scale. Consider the total control the Democrats have had over the passage of legislation, and the grinning, glad-handing and back-slapping they’ve done as they’ve sought to ignore the will of the American people. Look at the situation Obama himself is in – he may finally have his precious health care bill, but then again, Scott Brown could happen, and the president could be giving his State of the Union Address with egg on his face.

The pivot-point of the fate of national health care, really is embodied in Scott Brown. If he wins, he has vowed to be the all-important, and death-dealing blow the 41st vote in the Senate would bring. Hence, end of Obama Care and the end of easy money for the White House, the Congress and all their cronies.

Brown, in a race with Attorney General Martha Coakley for the seat vacated by the late Ted Kennedy, has faced an uphill battle made no easier by the malfunctioning Republican party leadership. Nevertheless, Brown, a Lt. Col. in the National Guard, has closed steadily on Coakley, who is regarded as a vacillating public official with a questionable record.

It would seem that the election was a straight toe to toe match-up, with none of the Dede Scozzafava, last-minute shenanigans which cost Doug Hoffman his win in New York recently. But sometimes appearances can be deceiving.

Today, a report out of the Boston Herald suggests that the certification and swearing-in of Scott Brown may be put off until after HCR passes. The Herald report suggests that the election in fact, won’t be certified until Feb. 20th – long after the president’s address.

With a bill as large and dangerous as HCR, the government has repeatedly taken the low road, buying-off public officials in back-room deals – and now has the entire process locked away out of public view and away from representatives of the opposing party. It will likely see brief sunlight before being stuffed back into chambers, given a quick, perfunctory vote and then bustled off to the President’s desk.

If the Democrats in Massachusetts get their way with a victorious Scott Brown, he will be unable to cast that 41st vote. But even if he is certified with the same speed and fervor accorded Dem candidates recently (within two days for some of them), he will still have to be sworn-in by the Senate. The very body involved in shoving health care down the throat of the American people, controls the scheduling of the swearing-in of a hinge-vote on their precious bill.

Massachusetts Governor Patrick appointed Paul Kirk, the former DNC Chairman as the interim U.S. Senator. According to comments today from the State House News Service, Kirk predicted that Congress would approve HCR by the end of the month, and said he would vote for it even if Massachusetts voters elect Brown.

“Absolutely,” Kirk said. “It would be my responsibility as United States Senator, representing the people and understanding Senator Kennedy’s agenda and the rest of it…”

The statement just seemed to make Brown more resolute:

“This is a stunning admission by Paul Kirk and the Beacon Hill political machine today,” said Brown. Paul Kirk appears to be suggesting that he, Deval Patrick and Harry Reid intend to stall the election certification until the health care bill is rammed through Congress, even if that means defying the will of the people of Massachusetts. As we’ve already seen from the backroom deals and kickbacks cut by the Democrats in Washington, they intend to do anything and everything to pass their controversial health care plan. But threatening to ignore the results of a free election and steal this Senate vote from the people of Massachusetts takes their schemes to a whole new level.”

Massachusetts voters should demand immediate certification of Scott Brown, should he win. Without a massive, vocal, angry populace, the one final chance to stop the crazy train to socialism in America, may be lost.

The dark, stinking level Democrats are willing to operate on to prevent Brown’s 41st vote, shouldn’t be too surprising, though. The rats in Washington are perfectly happy slinking through the sewers, as long as there’s a big, fat paycheck waiting at the end of it all.

And universal health care – in almost any form – is the biggest paycheck of them all; not in money, but in the thing the rats dream about and crave the most.

Health Care Reform is power, and by getting this thing, the creatures of Washington will have the unlimited, untraceable money provided by stimulus and TARP, but also unlimited power over the regular people – the power of life and death.

Once they have that, all that remains is the elimination of term limits, and we’ve arrived at either a monarchy or a dictatorship.

We may already be there anyway.
